Onscene status

All systems are up.

Chat, memory, and credits are running. There is no active incident.

This page is for outages and rate limits — not a second content filter. When AI replies pause, we say what is down, what still works, and an ETA if we have one.

Current incidents

No active incident. Chat, memory edits, and exports should work. If a single reply fails, retry the same turn; credits are not spent on a refused request.

What still works during an AI outage

  • Reading saved chats and story transcripts
  • Editing memory, recaps, and personas
  • Exporting a character or conversation pack

App and browser differences

App vs browser. The installed app and this browser share signed-in chats. Guest drafts stay on the profile that created them. A new browser or device will not see guest memory until you sign in or import a pack.

Offline. You can reread saved chats offline. New AI replies, credits, and live calls need a connection. We do not queue a reply to send later.

Voice and video. Text chat is the supported path on every browser we ship. Voice and video calls need a recent Chromium or Safari build with microphone permission; they are not a full copy of the text scene.

Updated 2026-09-16. Questions about a scene that was rewritten mid-reply belong in chat (Standard vs Uncensored), not here. Product guides: Guides · Character.AI alternative.
